Sunday in Our Yard
As I was sitting in my favorite chair cross stitching, I happened to look up at the window and noticed "our" cat, Miss Kitty, sleeping in the tree. We have three indoor cats, and about a year ago Miss Kitty appeared in our yard. She actually belongs to a neighbor on the street behind us. They have many outdoor animals, and I think she decided she'd rather live in our yard. She was a great companion to our cocker spaniel, Sienna, who passed away last year. You'd often find them sleeping together or wandering the yard. Miss Kitty goes to her own home occasionally, but is usually here. We now have her friend, who we named Charlie, living in our yard, too. He's from the same house, and also visits there periodically.
Of course, we don't know their real names, but Miss Kitty and Charlie seem to fit. In the first photo you can see Miss Kitty in the tree, and Charlie asleep in the chair on the deck.
Miss Kitty's sleep was disturbed when she found herself face-to-face with a squirrel who was trying to climb the tree. I ran for the camera, but missed getting a photo of the squirrel, who ran up the other side and way out on a branch, hopping to yet another tree. I was, however, able to capture Miss Kitty's very ungraceful descent from the tree :) Unfortunately, a couple of the photos have the flash since I was shooting from inside the sunroom through the glass doors.
By the way, the pink flamingos were from a list friend, Peg :)
