Graduation day last Saturday was perfect. We were worried about the weather, but the day was warm and sunny by late afternoon ~ just right for an outdoor ceremony. The Baccalaureate service in the morning was beautiful and brought some tears, but I was able to smile through the commencement ceremony in the evening, seeing all the students so happy to receive their diplomas and hearing all the cheers from family, friends and professors.
There was a stage set up in front of the chapel, with chairs on the lawn for all the faculty, students and guests. Just before the service began at 7 PM, the sun was just in the right place that the rays came through the steeple, behind the cross, shining down on the lawn. It was a beautiful sight, and just perfect for the beginning of the celebration.
