My Current Project

I haven't been doing too much cross stitching the last month, but I was in the mood to crochet and decided to make a few Christmas gifts. I enjoy crocheting with yarn, but over the years my favorite has become filet crochet projects using the bedspread weight (or thinner) cotton thread.

I have some favorite projects that I've made for friends and family in the past, and with a few weddings over the last couple of years, I realized there are some people I haven't made something for. So, I decided to pull out my patterns and get started on a couple of Christmas gifts.

Here's a close-up of my Tree Table Runner that I'm currently working on. The pattern is from one of the Leisure Arts The Spirit of Christmas books (#4, I think).

When working a detailed pattern, I find it much easier to make a working copy and then highlight the lines as I complete them. It's always easy to pick up the project and know right where to begin. You can see in the photo that I've been making good progress, and I think I'll have this runner finished in another few days.

My next project will be a Poinsettia Table Runner (if I can find where I put the pattern!).

WOW! This is so pretty Joanne. I never even knew you did crochet. I would not think this would go fast but it must by the sounds of what you wrote. I think it is beautiful and will look forward to seeing the poinsettia tablerunner also when you get it started. Great job!

Hugs ~
