Shopping, Stitching and Gifts :)

I'm so excited that I have a Friday finish to report! I completed Pumpkin Patch by Prairie Schooler late last night, and here's a photo of it, "hot off the hoop" :) This weekend I'll press it and then make it into a banner. I was out shopping today and stopped into JoAnn's to pick up two skeins of DMC 3371 (which I use a lot of with the various autumn projects I've been working on).

As soon as I walked in the door I noticed a rack of autumn fabric to the right, and a yard each of these three came home with me. I'm going to use them for the Pumpkin Patch and also for Autumn Winds (also by Prairie Schooler) that I finished stitching last year, but never "finished". I think they'll look perfect with these fabrics. I have lots of autumn fabric in my stash, but it all seemed to clash with the PS designs because they were too bright... either too orange, too green, or too gold. These fabrics have more muted colors, so I think they'll nicely complement the designs. The cute fall ribbon was on the counter near the registers, so three of those jumped into my arms, too :) I think they'll be fun to use with gifts... or maybe with an autumn pinkeep or two!

While the lady cut my fabric, I browsed the magazine rack, and these two came home with me. I'm going to spend some time this evening with a big glass of iced cherry limeade and enjoy them. I'm sure I'll find some projects to add to my "to do" list :)

When I finished my shopping at JoAnn's I decided to make a stop at Office Max for a few things before going on to the grocery store. I spotted a package of seasonal paper which I had to buy. I love to write long, long letters to friends and have found that the letterhead for printers works well for these (otherwise I can use an entire box of stationery when I really get chatty!). This pack has four different designs ~ two for autumn and two for winter. I thought the colored pens would be fun to use so had to buy those, also :)

And last, but definitely not least, I wanted to share a picture of a gift I received from my friend Nancy on my homemaking list. We had a "flower swap" and she sent me this pretty tote and two photo albums. I'm still deciding which pictures to add to the albums, but have decided to use the tote to carry my small needlework projects. I think it will be perfect!

Just reading your post cools me down from our 100+ temperatures here. I know Fall is right around the corner, and I thank you for letting me remember that!

Btw, your stitching is wonderful. Did you just feel holiday-ish just stitching it!??! :)

Take care.
