Finally, a finished project!
Yesterday I finished the pillow that I was making for our daughter to give to her English professor/advisor. The verse was used in her Senior Thesis about T. S. Eliot, and the quote is originally from Julian of Norwich. (See this post for details.)
In the close-up photo of the verse it looks as if there are spaces in some of the letters, but it doesn't appear that way when you actually look at the pillow. Strange, lol. Also, the second photo was taken in a different area, where there was very bright light, and the color is a little washed out. The colors of the linen and threads are actually the colors you see in that close-up photo.
The stitched flower and border are from a chart from Colonial Williamsburg, and I added the quote, using an alphabet that I thought would fit well with the design.
The fabric used for the border and back is a William Morris reproduction fabric. Not exactly the same period as the quote... but it fits well for a project from an English major to her professor :) I'll be making a second one for our daughter to keep, and that will probably be a summer project.

Thanks for your comment on my recipe blog. That strata recipe came from an issue of Martha Stewart's "Everyday Food" magazine. It is great to make ahead in the evening and put in the oven on a Sunday morning while getting ready for church or for a special holiday brunch.
That is a lovely pillow and I'm sure Jacquelyn's professor will enjoy it. All ready for graduation?
The pillow turned out so pretty and I know Jacquelyn's professor will just love it. You must be glad it is finished in time. They second one will go much faster as you have already planned it all out now. I love the William Morris fabric with it. As he was inspired by the Middle Ages for his own artwork, I think it works well with it.

The pillow is lovely and what a wonderful gift for a favorite professor. I am sure it will be loved and treasured.
