Roses in My Garden Today

"Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply to the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure to the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

~ Robert Frost, 'A Prayer in Spring'

Your Roses are so beautiful! Great poem your picked to accompany the photos! Your post reminded me that I need to take time out to "smell the roses", and not rush right through life, as we should appreciate the small, but many times, most beautiful things the Lord has created just for our enjoyment! Thanks!

How pretty your roses are Joanne! Reason for us to celebrate this season? I hope you are enjoying spring more this year. I am and very grateful. When you need a boost ~ look at those roses.

How is it possible that you have roses so early in the year? How is your climate? With all my friendship from France.
