A Prairie Schooler Finish

Earlier this week I added the last few stitches to Prairie Schooler Winter Winds. I didn't like the original chart instructions with a dark, almost black, portion at the top, so after seeing how some other online friends finished theirs, I decided to make a few changes and leave the top portion white, outlined in the dark color, and then use the blue for the word "winter". I like the way it turned out and now have to decide just what to do to actually "finish" it. Right now it's resting on a stitching stand with a few other recently finished projects.

OHHH Joanne! I love what you did to change it! Do you mind if I 'borrow' the idea when I get that far? Mine is going to be another quilted wallhanging and I think you must have seen in my stash cupboard as this change is perfect for my fabric.

Once again, you have created a really beautiful stitched piece. I will be looking forward to hearing what you decide about the finish. How did you finish Autumn Leaves?

Goodness Joanne, it looks just gorgeous. I really love the way you have changed it. It looks so much softer and much more like Winter. I look forward to seeing how you are going to finish it.

I like your finished piece very much. And now I can be inspired by you, as I finally got the 12 Prairie Schooler books (in fact booklets!) I ordered from USA. I'm very glad as so I don't need to look around in France to find one or two books. Maybe the first I try to cross stitch (after Easter cross stitch, which is very important for me every year) will be Adam names the animals. I wish you a very good week end.

Joanne,
I really enjoy reading your blog and especially love the P.Buckley Moss pictures. Your lists of favorite movies and books include many of my favorites. Even our names are similar! I look forward to seeing future posts.
