I was hoping for some snow since the weather report said there was a chance, but we only received a lot of freezing rain and sleet. I would have preferred snow since I miss it so much, but was happy to actually see some winter weather in our area. It's usually always warm here, what I call "tourist weather".
I spent most of yesterday sitting in my favorite comfy chair, drinking cocoa or tea, and doing lots of cross stitching. What could be more perfect? I made a pot of lentil soup and some cornbread for dinner, which seemed like a good meal for an icy day.
Today is still grey, with some more chance of winter precipitation, so my plans are much like yesterday. It's definitely a good time for some "nesting" :)

Dear Joanne, I just saw your lovely comments on my blog. I saw your Shaker recipe and even I asked a question about it on your blog. Did you see it? But in fact you answered it just now. It's 8PM here. We have a prayer and sharing time in our house now. Once a month our weekly gathering is split in several groups in families, the families changing every time. This allow mothers with young children to attend too. We close the gathering with a cold or hot drink and a homemade cake. I'll come back soon again. Thank you for your visit.
I think you received more ice in Texas than we did in Ontario! :) Your flag is adorable!
How beautiful to see the ice hanging from your rooftop. What a fun and cheerful photo! I think we are all feeling the need to 'nest'. I just wrote about it on my CelebrateTheSeasons blog yesterday too.
I just discovered your blog, and wanted to say that this is a lovely place to dwell. Such lovely pictures and stories. Thank you!
I heard that the weather is awful and really icy near where you're living. I wish that you're all safe, and your neighbours too, and that you really can enjoy the warmth and cosyness of your home without having to face the cold weather for one reason or another.
Dear Joanne,
I find your blog and I was so amazed at the beauty of it. I love cross stitch also, Little Women is my favorite too. What group are you in for the Prairie Schooler? I would like to join that one! I'm working on my Santa SAL right know. What church do you go to? My heart is unsure with our home church right know. Hope to hear from you soon!

It's a grey satuday afternoon here, after a few sunny hours. I'm thinking of you very much as I'm preparing a little surprise for you. I read about Prairie Schooler charts on your blog and on some other ones too. I discovered that I own the Book n° 14, but in fact it's only 3 sheets with 12 individual designs. So now I'm looking for more information about all the Prairie schooler designs on the net. I hope that I'll find them. It seems that it's a style I do love. I already rejoice to hear of you again. I wish you a blessed Sunday. I'll come soon again.
