Autumn Gathering

Two nights ago a brisk wind blew all night bringing in a cold front. Here, where the weather is normally warm, cold weather is unusual and many people complain. I, on the other hand, thrive in cold weather (and I miss it terribly). So, I rejoice when those winds bring in the cooler days and nights.

As I watched the squirrels gathering some of the newly fallen acorns from the live oak trees this morning, I was reminded of a photo I took two years ago. Our dog was outside and had a blanket in her house. She had pulled the blanket out in the morning to lie on the ground in front of the house, soaking up the sun. A squirrel had other ideas, and wanted some of it for his own family :)

Oh Joanne! This photo is just too cute! I love that squirrel and cannot believe he actually tried to steal the dog's blanket. :-)

I come everyday on your blog as I do like the spirit which it expresses, but I cannot leave a comment every day, most of the time there is hindrance on the site. I'm glad to be able to write today. You are among my links on my site, as your blog about Christmas is too. Maybe you would aggree to add my site among your links. I'm French, but the site is both in French and English. Like you my faith in God and my love for His Word is a priority for me, as I try to express it through my needle works. I'll come back soon to see you, and you'll be a welcome guest on my site.

Such a cute photo! Squirrels can be very resourceful, can't they? :)

aren't squirrels funny little creatures? :) My husband and I also love the cold weather. He grew up in Alaska, so he especially loves snow. I just received Prairie Schooler "Winter Wind" in the mail today which has a lovely verse celebrating the winter season.

Oh my goodness, that is hilarious!! Squirrels are so fun to watch - the other day I watched three chase each other around the base of a tree. Simple pleasures.
