"What does the season mean to me? I think about it as I circle back to the house. The one word that expresses it would be splendor. October is the jewel set in the hand of time. I must be certain that I have given my heart humbly to the glory, which is the gift of God. October is nothing to pass carelessly, every bright hour must be cherished.
And may God bless us all and make us glad as the wonder of autumn has once again been given to us."

Nice blog, Joanne! You took to blogging like duck to water. Nice WIP's too. Love it all!
Joanne ~ dear friend, this is beautiful. I just love Gladys Taber and have only ever found one of her books while I was in England in a used book shop. I felt so lucky to have found it. Thanks for this today as her words are always relavent in any time. I hope you are enjoying blogging and I am SO pleased I can now leave comments too.
I LOVE Gladys Taber - I have several of her books in first edition and cherish them!!!
I have loved Gladys Taber since I was a young married in 1957. I found her Butternut Wisdom columns in Family Circle. I've been to Stillmeadow many times and it is as peaceful as written in her books. Her presence is felt, along with all the Cockers, Irish and her Amber. Her books line my shelves and are friends in waiting.
