The Book of Luke

This morning's Bible reading found me beginning the Book of Luke. I read the introduction and the first five chapters, and now I'm in a happy mood after beginning my day with the traditional "Christmas story". I always make notes in my Bible, and noticed that I began my reading last October 15th in exactly the same place.

As a mother, one of my favorite verses was about Mary after the visit from the shepherds, from Chapter 2, verse 19: "But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart."

Isn't that just what a mother does ~ keeping all the precious moments of her child's life tucked into her heart. Some moms keep photo albums, some make scrapbooks, some write in journals or letters to friends. But, no matter what, we all keep the memories in our hearts to remember in years to come.
